Birthday Fun and Well-Baby Stats

My birthday weekend was so much fun! Lots of family came in town to celebrate, and everyone pitched in to make my party perfect. Daddy made me a caterpillar poster with all my monthly Pooh pictures, and Auntie Crystal came up with the wonderful idea to make all the kids caterpillar hats. Po-Po spent lots of time feeding me lots of yummy food, Da-Jiu Zong made me laugh with the WiiFit, and Ye-Ye assumed the duties of making sure I took all my naps.

On the morning of my party, Xiao-Jiu Dwo gave me my very own photo shoot. I was a little grumpy, but you can't even tell in the pictures! You can see all his favorite pictures here.

If you haven't figured it out by now, my party theme was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It started with my invitations, carried through the foods (we served all the foods from the book), and finished with the party favor. Mommy got me a fun dress and hat to match the theme, but I had to change partway through so that I could move and par-tay! I had lots of fun playing with all my girlfriends, and I'm thinking about starting a band with all the musical gifts I received.

The day after my party, Jacob came over to celebrate belatedly
since he couldn't make it to my party.

Of course, there are a ton of pictures from my party, so you can see a lot more of them here.

One week after my actual birthday was my 1-Year Well-Baby visit. Dr. Frank says that I'm developing well. I even showed off some of my tricks for him while he was there ("please", "thank you", showing him I'm one). My stats?

  • Height: 29.9 inches (75%)

  • Weight: 20 lbs 3.5 ounces (48%)
  • Head: 17.5 cm (30%)

Not too bad ... and enough to turn my car seat around (which Mommy and Daddy did the weekend of my party because they couldn't wait)! He said that I can start all those "forbidden" foods (eggs, honey, peanut butter -- though that may need to wait with everything going on right now, fish) which means I'll bet Po-Po and Nai-Nai visit soon so that they can take advantage of the ban being lifted! This weekend, I'm also going to try whole milk for the first time ... and start thinking about how to give up the bottle. Hmmm ... Oh, and I've been sleeping through the night since the night of my birthday (the midnight of). Pretty good, huh? Except then I started cutting my molars, so that's been waking me up the last couple of nights.

OK on whole milk means OK for ice cream, too, right?

Thank you to everyone for sending your birthday wishes!

Your 1st birthday post and pictures are fantastic! You should do a book with just her 1st birthday party. You really made a nice little memory for Claire.
