We went to Evan's house to celebrate her birthday on Saturday, and as we were leaving their house, they had a conversation that went something like this: "So, where to now?" ... "Where does I-35W go?" ... "Austin" ... "OK, you want to go?" ... "Sure!". Seriously.
Enjoying some birthday jigglers
Before we had C-A-K-E! Mommy and Daddy made some phon calls on the way down and found that both the Pees (George Shu-Shu, Christina A-Yi, and Baby James) and the Law/Liu (Xiao-Jiu, Crystal A-Yi, and Kirby) were there all weekend! More good news was Mommy had re-packed the diaper bag that morning with the most important items. The bad news was, that's ALL we had, so we had to get everything else -- more than the two diapers packed, clothes, toiletries, iPhone charger (like I said, the most important things), etc -- once we hit Austin. I was absolutely FANTASTIC during the car ride down.
Playing with Baby James our first night there Our first stop was the Pee house. Baby James has grown up so much! He and I played really well together and made each other laugh over dinner. I was disappointed when it was bedtime because I wanted to play more, but we did get more play time in the morning.
Pees on Earth Next we met up with Xiao-Jiu and Crystal A-Yi at one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite Austin eateries: Hula Hut! Yum. We had lunch and then went back to Xiao-Jiu's place to nap and play before we ate again ... SNOW CONES! It was July 4th, so that night we watched fireworks on TV while Mommy and I marched around the living room to the music before piling up in bed together for a good night's sleep. Well, good for some, but not for all (sorry, Mommy).
I was oddly quiet at lunch. Sleepy, I guess.
But once I got that snow cone ... whee! The next morning, we headed to the park to play. It was only 9:30 in the morning but it was already hot, hot, hot!
Fire truck!
Checking out the swings
Thanks for the trip! After lunch (more yummy food! Buffet at Trudy's), we headed back on the road where we drove straight through without stopping because Gavin and I slept almost the entire way. If it weren't for the traffic, we would have made it easy-peasy.
All in all, it was a wonderful trip. Check out our
July photo album and Gavin's posting to see more!
