2-Year Well-Baby

Gavin and I went together to our well-baby check-us yesterday (my two-year, his two-month). I know it's been almost a whole month since I turned two, but there was something about timing of shots and insurance and some other stuff. Besides, someone had to show Gavin how it's done, right?

Yup, I'm still bigger

I've been practicing a lot with my medicine kit and did a great job letting Dr. Frank look in my eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. We had a funny moment when he wanted to listen to my lungs and asked me to blow out the candle at the end of his eye/ear/nose/mouth stick. Um, I've seen a lot of candles recently, and I KNOW that's not a candle. Silly man. He ended up pushing on my tummy instead.

My stats:
  • Height: 34.5 inches (70%)
  • Weight: 26 lbs (40%)
  • Head: 18.75 inches (50%)
After that, I got my shots (again ... sheesh) and let Gavin have his turn. Everything looks great, and I'm not scheduled to go back for another well baby until I'm three years old!

Almost 3 feet and WAY taller than Pooh!

A funny moment happened today, the day after my visit. We were looking at books after storytime the library, and Mommy selected a book and asked me if I wanted her to read it. I immediately replied "doctor". Again she asked, and again I said, "doctor" followed by "boo-boo" and pointed to my leg. It took her a moment and then she realized that the book she was holding was the same random book from the doctor's office when we were waiting for the nurse to come back and give me a shot. Talk about object association!

Mommy's been debating moving me over to my 2T clothes, but some of the bottoms just sort of fall off me since I'm a little bit on the skinny side. But now we're in the danger of everything being too short! Luckily spring is coming up, and you won't be able to tell with shorts and t-shirts.

It's March! March, march, march, now we're marching all around. Mommy tells me it comes in like a lion ("rraaaawwwwrrrrhhhh!"), so we'll see! You can find our March photo album online now, too.

It was very nice of you to show Gavin how to handle shots! You are such a good big sister, Claire!
