Mostly Just Pics

Not too much to tell right now, but there are lots of pictures of me from this week, so I might as well tell you what I'm up to as well! I'm eating lots of different foods, and a lot of it. I'm eating 2 "Stage 2" jars of food, 4 tbsp of rice cereal, and 12 ounces of formula at school every day. I don't eat nearly as much at home, but it's so much more fun when all us babies are lined up together for our meals! My new favorite toy at school is the bubble blower; I can watch those bubbles for hours!

Toes, toes. If I'm not holding them, I like to prop them up the table. So uncouth.

My teachers are so nice and they love to do my hair different every day.

Sometimes I like to try and feed myself.
If you cover the entire spoon with food, it doesn't matter which end you eat.

I'm becoming more and more mobile every day, and I'm definitely finding myself in places that I probably should not be going. I've done an official on-my-knees crawling a couple of times now, but it's so fast just army scootching everywhere! The only thing is it gives me a bit of carpet burn because the neckline of my clothes ends up getting pulled down to my stomach when I slither around.

Meeting Bunny III

Woooooo ... a tunnel! Why have I not found this before?

Mommy's been busy posting lots of videos of me online. There's my lightning quick army crawl, my attempts at actual crawling (that tile is just so cold!), 2 feeding time videos (one because food is knee-slapping, finger-licking good!), and my incredible finger dexterity. Plus all these pictures and more have been uploaded to my August album! We'll let the videos and pictures do the talking. :)

"Helping" Mommy fold laundry

This weekend is Labor Day weekend, so I have three whole days to play with Mommy and Daddy. I wonder what adventures we have in store?

Busy, Busy Week

I finished my first week of daycare. It was fun! I've made lots of new friends, and I really like my teachers. I eat a lot, sleep a lot (okay, maybe not a lot, but as much as I normally did), and I'm learning lots of new songs and games. Mommy says that since I haven't cried when I'm dropped off and she's never seen me cry when she comes to get me, she tells herself that there's no crying in between either. :)

I'm a daycare superstar!

My bed got lowered this weekend. Daddy and Mommy weren't sure if it was time yet until they found me sitting up in my crib when I was definitely left there on my tummy just moments before. I haven't repeated the trick since, but they're not taking any chances!

How am I supposed to sneak out now?!

I had another photo shoot, this time with Mr. Sudeep. He's Ms. Rajani's husband and Varsha's daddy. He has a whole studio set-up in his house, and it was all very professional. I made it challenging for everyone by not wanting to sit still for very long and beelining for the camera as soon as they put me down or pulled me backwards. If all my pictures turn out as good as the few sneak peeks we got on the camera, it's going to be fabulous!

Me and Varsha

My newest toy is my rainforest jumper; I'm still getting the hang of it, but it's quite a ride! I'm getting REALLY fast at army crawling. You really have to keep your eyes on me at all times or else I'll do something totally random (a la licking the tile after shimmying across the living room in about 5 seconds). I push up on all fours and rock and forth, but scootching is so fast! One of the benefits of being small and mobile is I found my duckie shoe! It's been missing for a long time; Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye spent hours looking for it! But all they needed to do was set me loose in my room for a few minutes, and I would have found it for them. Too bad they're too small to wear now ... but they tastes good!

Mmmm ... duck

Hard to believe August is almost over. Next weekend is Labor Day, so it's a long weekend (yay!). Just one more week of pictures to add to my August album before I create my next one!

Pigtails! You knew they were coming!

Off to a New Adventure

Well, it's finally here. I start day care tomorrow! Mommy and Daddy took me to check out my room on Friday, and I think it's going to be fun. I even wanted the teacher to hold me and take me around! The bad news is, that means Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye went home. They did such a good job taking care of me (and Mommy and Daddy!) these last three months, and it's definitely going to be different without them here with us. Thank you, Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye! I hope to see you again soon!

With Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye at Luby's (one of Mommy's favorite food places) celebrating Mommy and Daddy's anniversary.

Last weekend, I also met up with Kaylie and Ms. Corrie for lunch. Kaylie's getting so big! She also inspired me to start eating more finger foods. I got to try these corn puff things that are now my new favorite food, although I haven't quite mastered the finger/thumb relationship. Most of the time, I get mad that all my corn stars are gone, not realizing that about 10 of them are stuck to various parts of my hands.

Just two ladies doing lunch!

I'm getting better and better every day scootching around which is really fun except it makes it harder to take pictures of me because as soon as I see that camera, I'm making a beeline for you! I'm also getting more difficult to change because I'm just going to flip right onto my tummy as soon as you put me down. Mommy and Daddy have resorted trying to diaper me backwards. Luckily for them, no accidents (yet)!

You THINK you can get me. I'll show you!

I'm sure I'll have lots of new adventures at school to write about, but - until then - you'll just have to check out the lots of pictures Mommy uploaded plus my new videos.

Whee! My very own ball pit!

6-Month Check-Up

I'm a half-year old! My appointment with Dr. Frank went really well (except for the shots!). My head is 16.5(30%), I weigh 16lb 15oz (75%), and I'm 27 inches long (90%). Maybe my measurements weren't that wrong at my 4-month after all!

Another new development: my hair is finally too long and heavy to stand up on its own.
Here come hair accessories!

The doctor seemed a little surprised that I already have two teeth and I'm already sitting up straight and creeping. He said my motor skills are a little advanced and warned Mommy that it's time to start baby-proofing because I'm going to get more and more mobile every day. I got the green light to start pureed meats and egg yolk, so I'm hoping Daddy will cook me some soon.

No, not more Pees ... more PEAS!

The last "prescriptions" he gave Mommy was to go out on a date with Daddy, warned her that I'm going to get separation anxiety (we didn't have the heart to tell him I already do a little), and to take a look at a couple of chapters in Dr. Ferber's book. She asked him a question, but I wasn't sure I understood. Who's going to cry what out, Mommy? You can't mean me!

Mmm ... love the bisquit

I swear there was some more left in there, but how do I get to it?

Yesterday was a very special day because it was the Opening Ceremonies of the XXIX Olympics, and this year it's in Beijing! I got to stay up with Mommy and Daddy to watch some of the ceremonies. I liked the drums and costumes.

Another one of my new things: forced laughing.
Am I laughing for you? Or AT you? Hmmm ...

Last weekend, we celebrated Jacob's first birthday with a big banquet. I can't believe he's one already! It seems like just yesterday that I was in Mommy's tummy and Jacob was born. Actually, the day that Jacob was born was the day that Mommy told Auntie Diana she was having me! Daddy says I have to stay away from him because he's twice my age. :)

What an awesome outfit. Happy Birthday, Jacob!

Mommy, is he smelling my head?

Of course, Mommy created my August photo album so that she can start saving pictures out there. Plus, she's planning on adding long overdue videos, so check back soon!
