I celebrated my first Memorial Day weekend last week. In honor of the largest beef consumption day of the year (really!), Daddy smoked a brisket while Mommy pretty much wore me all weekend just because she could. The brisket was soooo good (at least that's what it seemed like). Mommy bragged it was even better than Rudy's (her favorite), and we had Auntie Diana and Jacob come over to taste test.
Daddy's Smokin'!
I gave Mommy two gifts this weekend. I know how she's worried about missing my firsts, so I rolled over once from my stomach to my back and later actually laughed out loud (a real "hahahaha") for her as well. She was super happy.
Being close to Mommy
My new thing is blowing raspberries. Everyone's pretty sure I learned it from Mommy because she does it to me all the time. I like the noises it makes as well as the spit that flies everywhere when I do it. I'm solidly sucking my thumb and fingers (sometimes multiple ones at the same time), and Mommy has pretty much given up on trying to encourage or discourage me because I'm pretty stubborn. The only thing bad about it is that I tend to gag myself, but I'm sure I'll have more finesse over time.
They have to tie me in now because I insist on sitting up
After four weeks of having Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye here, I was sad to see them go home, but Po-Po, Gong-Gong, and Xiao-Jiu came to see me this week and watch me during the day while Mommy and Daddy were at work. They did a very good job taking care of me and my parents, and I'm sure there will be tons of pictures online soon because both Gong-Gong and Xiao-Jiu looooove to take pictures (see links at the right).
What is it about Asian (grand)parents always thinking it's too cold?
Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye come back again this weekend, and this time they will be here for 5 weeks (until July 4th). They've learned to take pictures and videos with Mommy's camera, so keep coming back for more updates!
Ye-Ye will be back soon
Oh, yeah. My playgroup is splitting up. :( We have so many babies here in the neighborhood that we're making our huge group (14 babies at today's playdate and 4 more to come next week!) into two smaller ones. My birthday is right on the cusp of the big baby group, but Mommy went ahead and volunteered to have us go to the little baby half to help even out the numbers. Hopefully we'll still get to see the other babies though, because I'm going to miss all the others and learning from all of them! I've suddenly gone from being the baby to being the oldest!

So funny about asian parents thinking babies are cold. My in-laws keep putting extra clothing on Jacob even in this almost 100 degree weather!
we need more playdates! :)
