Ready for May Flowers

Uh-oh, Mommy's starting to accessorize!

On Monday, Ava and her Mommy Kim came over to hang out in the morning. Ava's grown so much since the last time I saw her! I'm a whole month older than her, but for some reason we look like we're almost the same size ... well, I'm chubbier. :) I can't wait until we can actually play together.

Looking at me and Ava is like looking at a miniature Mommy and Ms. Kim

Watch out, Ava! My Daddy will beat up your Daddy!

Tuesday was the "trial run" for Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye to take care of me a whole day by themselves (and Mommy to stay away for hours and hours). They said there were ups and downs, but I know things will smooth out over time.

Who, me? Daddy likes to eat my toes and Mommy likes to smell and kiss my feet!

Just like that, April has passed, I'm 12 weeks old, Mommy's maternity leave is over, and she goes back to work tomorrow. I can't believe how quickly time has passed (and how many pictures were taken)! It's been a lot of fun, and I know that I'll continue to learn and grow with Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye next. Of course, I'll keep posting about my adventures as much as I can, so come back soon!

Movin' On Up!

Yo, yo, yo, homies!

The big news is that I am now officially wearing Size 2 diapers and some 3-6 month clothes. For the diapers, all it took was (count 'em) THREE blow-out diapers in ONE DAY for Mommy to make the diaper decision, and she realized it was time for new clothes when some of my onesies didn't button at the bottom anymore. :)

No, really, tell me the truth!

I'm tolerating tummy time a little better now, but I much prefer to sit up or stand instead. I got really mad at Mommy this week when I was sleeping in my crib and I accidently turned on my side ... and then fell onto my stomach. Grrr!!! Lucky for me, Auntie Corrie let me borrow Kaylie's bumbo today when we were visiting her, so I even have my own chair to sit in on my own!

Why, hello, Red Bird! How are you?

My "Mommy and Me" is pretty much up. I turn 12 weeks old next Wednesday, so she goes back to work next Thursday full-time. My Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye are coming next Monday to start taking care of me until I'm ready to go to daycare in August. Let the spoiling begin! I know that Mommy is sad to leave me, but I know it will be fine. She'll keep adding adding pictures to my April photo album (and other months, of course) and keep everyone updated on my next adventures!

My First Trip (and Other Firsts)

Mommy and I have been so busy, we haven't had time to write all about what we've been doing! Mommy finally got around to posting more pictures to my April photo album, too.

I have a feeling that Daddy is ready for Mommy to go back to work because one thing we've done a lot of is go shopping, mostly with Auntie Diana and Jacob. The Carreons came over for dinner, and I was kissed by a boy for the first time. I thought it was gross and Daddy said it was okay, but I think he'll be watching me pretty closely for now on. Especially after he heard about Jacob smelling my socks ... hehe. I went to my first birthday party; Emily turned 2 and had a zoo-themed soiree. Too bad I'm still too small to play, but I did get to swing. I also hung out with Ava, Tommy, and Jacob one day while Mommy ate lunch with Miss Kim, Miss Trish, and Auntie Diana (respectively). I can't wait until we're all old enough to eat real food, too!

Hanging out at the mall playground with Jacob and Auntie Diana.
I worked on finding my thumb while he worked on crawling.

We also had a big storm here in Dallas that was pretty exciting. In the middle of the night, the tornado sirens went off, so Daddy had me and Mommy hide in the bathroom. There was some crazy green lightning, really loud howling winds, and some damage to the houses around us ... but, I have to admit, I slept through most of it. What can I say? I'm a sleeper! The next morning, Gong-Gong and Po-Po drove up to see me -- jetlagged and all -- after having just returned from Taiwan. I guess seeing my 2 little cousins (all three of us girls are piggies!) made them miss their bao-bei.

Trying out my new Wubbanub. The jury's still out on the verdict.

This past weekend, I went on my first trip when Mommy and Daddy attended Mr. Ryan and Auntie Pearl's wedding in Austin. I love car rides, so I slept pretty much the entire way there. Xiao-Jiu and Auntie Crystal watched me while Mommy and Daddy went to the wedding (oh, Gong-Gong and Po-Po came up, too), and then all of us went with George Shu-Shu and Christina Shen-Shen to dinner. Then, I got another long nap when we drove back today.

Family trip to Austin

Some things I especially like now are to sit up (almost by myself) and to stand with some help. I am very comfortable sleeping in my bassinet all night even though I tend to still wake up to eat (but Mommy doesn't mind), and I still get treated to Mommy sneaking some sleeping time with me some early mornings. I do NOT like tummy time at all, but I really like turning on to my sides. I'm talking a lot, love having conversations with you, and am experimenting with the volume of my voice (sometimes I even startle myself).

Sitting up (with a little bit of help)

This is Mommy's last full week with me before going back to work. She goes back next Thursday, and Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye are coming earlier in the week so that they can watch me during the day. I have a feeling that the next few days are going to be filled with lots of excursions ... and maybe some extra cuddling with Mommy built in. :D

I fell asleep while playing. One minute, I'm batting the toys, the next, zzzzz ...
Oh, that's my vanilla-scented pacifier.

P.S. Happy Birth Day, Maven Ding! Hopefully we can get together some day to play!

2-Month Check-Up and April Fun

I'm two months old! To celebrate, Mommy took me to see Dr. Frank. >:( The nurse measured me and discovered that I'm now 21.5 inches long, my head is 14.75, and I weigh 11lb 14 oz. Percentages? Head: 20%; Height: 25%; Weight: 75%! I'm still a fat peanut head, and my Mommy and Daddy love it. Mommy thinks that I might be taller than what I measured, but she's not splitting hairs about it. Yes, I got my 4 leg shots and 1 oral vaccine, and I was really, really good. Mostly I was surprised that they would stick me with those things and turned bright red like a tomato to let them know I was mad, but once that subsided, I was fine. I'm taking advantage of the fact that Mommy felt bad about the shots and sleeping in her arms this afternoon instead of in my swing. Hehe.

Post-Appointment. Can you see my bandaids? One is pink camo.

Mommy told Dr. Frank how I'm still only eating about 3oz max every 2 hours, and he explained that I'm a snacker and that it's fine. I'm still gaining weight, that's just the type of eater I am, and to keep on feeding me on-demand as she is now. She'll just have to deal with the fact that I'm not like Ava and Tommy who are a whole month younger than me and are already eating 4-4.5 oz per sitting and only every few hours. Maybe I just like the cuddle time. :)

I found my thumb this week. Yum.

April has been really fun so far. On April Fool's Day, Mommy took her car to get the car seat checked out again now that I'm born. We failed ... again. This time, though, it was definitely not our fault. The officer who inspected the seat asked Mommy who in the world installed it in the middle for her because my car seat base doesn't do well in the middle, and she said, "um, you". Hehe. Now I sit behind Mommy which is nice to get me in and out of the car plus Mommy doesn't get tempted to check on me because it's pretty much impossible. After the car seat check, Mommy and I went with Auntie Diana and Jacob to the mall to walk and do some shopping. I slept again ... it's that darn stroller that lulls me to sleep!

Jacob looks cute. I look lazy. Hehe.

Then, on Friday night, Auntie Debbie came to visit me from Houston! Since we're both piggies, she brought me a fuzzy pig for my crib so that I can think of her. On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, and Auntie Debbie took me to dim sum (my third restaurant outing; at some point we'll stop counting) where I slept the entire time, and then we went to Super H Mart to go grocery shopping which is also one of Auntie Debbie's favorite activities. In the afternoon, Auntie Nina came over after art class, and we watched her work on her self portrait outside since it was so nice out. That night, we had a Korean cuisine feast! It was nice for Auntie Debbie and Auntie Nina to spend a longer time with me so that they actually got to see the more playful happy side of me ... unlike yesterday when Emily and her parents came over for dinner and I was cranky and slept through it. Too much excitement, I guess. But I'll see them again next weekend at Emily's 2-year birthday party!

Auntie Debbie and Auntie Nina came to visit

Speaking of sleeping, Mommy has been shocked at how well I'm doing by myself. She's wary of actually bragging about it, but I'm sure she'll be sharing what she's doing to make me sleep on my own. She's also created my April photo album that she'll add to throughout the month.
