Mommy and We

After Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye left, we've settled into our new family unit but we weren't alone for too long. Auntie Syndee came to visit us! I love Auntie Syndee and couldn't get enough of her. She took good care of us by offering an extra set of hands plus feeding us good food. One night, Jacob and his parents even came over to play. Jacob is also one of my best friends and boyfriends. We play really well together and like to copy each other. Even days after he left, I was still looking for him wondering where he was.

I love you Auntie Syndee, but next time bring Charlie too!

It might look like a sleepover, but Jacob went home after this

Playing Daddy's pretend game. Jacob thought we were silly.

Mommy is adjusting to being a SAHM for the next couple of months and intends to make the most of it. We've left the house to attend playgroup (both with and without my Di-Di), storytime at the library, and to go shopping; going out takes a little bit more coordinating and planning now that there's two of us. At home, we've done lots things like art, play-doh, and dress up. I did go back to school for a couple of days. I was really excited the first day; the second, not so much. We also had our first family outing to Alex's house for playtime.

Sleep, glorious sleep as Mommy enjoys quiet, glorious quiet

One of the NOT fun things right now is the dry air that is making me get nosebleeds. At first Mommy thought I was picking my nose -- okay, sometime I am but I try not to because it scares Mommy -- but after seeing a spontaneous nosebleed or two, she realized it wasn't ALL me and my finger.

The next big event is my birthday this weekend. For weeks now, Mommy and Daddy have asked me who's coming to my party and my response has been "Al!" Of course, "Al" is my response for a lot of things, but it's really true! Mr. Al, my music man from school, is coming to my party in addition to lots of my family and friends. Make sure you come back to check out all the details!

All of the January pictures are up in our album!

QualiPEE Time

Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye just left after taking care of us for more than two weeks. They said that they were coming to help out with Gavin, but I'm pretty sure they really just needed an excuse to hang out with me. They were so helpful with everything -- cooking, cleaning, playing with me, and holding Gavin so that Mommy and Daddy could play with me.

After the first week, they also realized that by whisking me away in the mornings, Mommy and Gavin could sleep in until lunchtime without me interrupting. We went to the mall, grocery shopping, on walks, and to the park. Sometimes they woul have to trick me by whisking me out of the house before I even have a chance to fully wake up, but it was necessary to keep me from barging into Mommy's room in the morning looking for her.

The first weekend that they were in town, Daddy, Nai-Nai, Ye-Ye, and I took a road trip down to Austin in Daddy's new car. We wanted to be there to celebrate with Baby James his first birthday! Plus it gave Mommy a completely quiet day all to herself and Gavin. Can you believe that Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye had grandchildren three years in a row? How lucky are they?! And how lucky am I that I'll have family to grow up with for the rest of my life. :) The party itself was a blast! I did have to step in a make it clear to one little girl who was MY daddy, but we got that settled pretty quickly. After the party, we headed back to Dallas because we all missed Mommy and Baby Gavin.

I also went to Connor's Barney-themed birthday party. If you ask me, Connor is one of my boyfriends although Daddy is still my #1! I've been having a little bit of a hard time understanding that not all presents are mine (especially after Christmas!) but I'm happy to sing happy birthday to you if you would like.

Connor doesn't know what to make of me

Mmm ... ready for cupcake

I'm definitely enjoying being a big sister. I've helped Mommy give my Di-Di a bath, and I really like going on walks with our big stroller. I also enjoy sharing the chaise with Mommy and Gavin when he's feeding but will settle for waiting on the steps to the bed across the room.

Where's my towel?

Mommy bought me a potty sticker calendar for me to celebrate the new year, and I'm really enjoying it! I'm not officially potty training yet but sometimes I like to tell people when I'm about to poo-poo so that we can run for the potty. I also use "poo-poo potty" as a stall tactic at night when I don't want to go to bed; hopefully Mommy hasn't picked up on that yet.

Priorities (and Lots of Pics!)

As you've seen over the last two years, there are a few things Mommy's family love to do when they get together including eating a lot and taking lots of pictures. They didn't want to disappoint with this trip, so we made sure we made time before everyone headed back in their separate cars to Houston. Here's a bunch for your enjoyment:

The Pee Family ...

Cheeeeeeez

So happy together

With parents like these,
it will be amazing if I turn out semi-normal

MY present!

The Law & Pee Families with their significants ...

Go Texas!

I guess we know where the silliness comes from

Me and my Di-Di Gavin ...

I am an awesome big sister

I wonder what kind of trouble we'll get into together

One little poke ... right ... there

I'm so glad you're my family

The feast followed by Megagongmas cake

Gan bei!

Happiness is food and family

Happy Megagongmas!

No, no, Gong-Gong; I can do this

Ice cream AND gluten-free cake ... how did I get so lucky?

And then the festivities were over. Da-Jiu and Melissa A-Yi stayed over one more day/night to help out the transition; good thing because some of our friends came over to visit, and Mommy appreciated the extra hands! Plus, it helped to have other people besides my parents trying to explain where everyone (ahem, KIRBY!?) disappeared to so suddenly.

Working on my "laptop" updating my blog.

Make sure you come back and visit often, and don't forget to check out more pictures in the January album!
