Thanksgiving Weekend

Daddy and Mommy came up to my school the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to share snacktime with me (we're pretty sure it was the school's ploy to get everyone to leave early). :) Afterwards, we went to the park where we ran into ... Sofia!

Friends, siblings, and mommies

Whee!

Giving it a go

On Thanksgiving Day, Mommy had some friends from work come over for our Thanksgiving feast -- Amanda, Katy, and her husband Casey. Shu-Shu and Shen-Shen were supposed to come up with Baby James, but they got the flu instead! Yuck. Mommy and Daddy decided to go the easy way and ordered yummy food from Luby's. Mmmm. After we feasted (well, after everyone else feasted while I took a nap and then woke up during dessert), I got to play with everyone -- including playing golf and football -- while we watched the Cowboys game.

Mommy also took advantage of the pretty weather to try and get a good shot for our annual Christmas card. Of course, afterwards, we had to go visit the ducks. Here are some outtakes, and keep your eyes out for the real thing in the mail!

I had lots of fun with Mommy and Daddy during the long weekend! I think that pretty much wraps up November. See you in December!

Accessorizing and Meeting Santa

Every girl knows how important accessories are to complete the outfit. I definitely have much more opinion on getting dressed these days, hence the beautiful ensembles:

One headband, 4 bows, 2 bracelets and mittens.
What am I missing?

Backpack, headband, bracelets, and slippers. Check!

Knee-high socks (Mommy's), huge bib, and yogurt. Done.

Swimsuit and flower bracelet. Good in any weather.

What is this? Oh, yes, au de grape smeared on my neck.

Sometimes it's not how you accessorize yourself
but how you decorate your food.

A hat, a basket, and a bell. Ready for the holidays!

Even before Thanksgiving was here, we went to visit Santa at the mall. Mommy's been preparing me -- btw, Santa says "ho ... ho .... hoooooo" -- but I still wasn't too terribly keen on meeting the guy. No crying, exactly; we just didn't hit it off right away. However, I am quite excited to see his picture now and want to say hi to Santa all the time.

We're going to see Santa!

Um, Mommy? Daddy?

Mommy is starting to get ready for my baby brother to get here. I'm not quite sure why that involves all MY stuff. Hmph.

I know I never liked this thing before,
but I want to be in it now!

Whaddya mean you're going to start "going through" my old clothes?!

The Zoo

Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye came to visit me! It's been a few months since they've seen me, so they were amazed at how much I'm talking. Nai-Nai has a really green thumb -- I think ALL of her fingers must be green, not just the thumb -- and brought us a HUGE wintermelon that she grew in her backyard.

It's as big as me

And weighs about as much, too

On Sunday, all of us went to the zoo where we met up with Sofia's family. I loved the monkeys and the train ride and the carousel. I wasn't a huge fan of the bird area, but I really liked the big animals!

Hi, kangeroo

Another carousel! How lucky am I?

What's wrong with this picture?

Barrel of fun ... seriously, I am

Post-Halloween

Mommy and Daddy took me to the mall to ride the carousel (neigh-neigh!) after Po-Po, Gong-Gong, Da-Jiu, and A-Ye left before we went to Aidan and Ellie's house for dessert because I was a little sad at the suddenly empty house. I love it when people come to visit me because they're always so willing to play. A-Yi Melissa this time kept saying how impressed she was by me and how much I've grown since she saw me last in Phoenix; I do like to please my fans. :)

Oh, no! The kittens have lost their mittens!

Love the carousel

Another big event this weekend was I got my real big girl bed! The bed fairy visited while I slept on Saturday night so I got to sleep in my new bed Sunday. I love all the pink and all the pillows.

Share a pillow? Are you sure I'll have enough left for myself?

The next week was Juliet's birthday which we celebrated with the playgroup. Ms. Jessica was nice enough to take on some extra passengers in her wagon on the way to the park.

Excited about the wagon ride

Choo-choo!

And then we ride the dinosaur together

Hallo-WOW! Weekend

Imagine my excitement when Po-Po, Gong-Gong, Da-Jiu, and A-Yi Melissa were at the house on Friday morning! They snuck in late on Thursday night and were ready to play with me all weekend.

What, you think you can buy my affection with a bribe?

OK, OK, you can

We went out for yummy breakfast together and then our usual grocery shopping before heading back home for a nap.

I liked the pink sugar packets better than the blue

Punkin' in my PJ's

Sunglasses and boba. It's a good life.

In the afternoon, we headed to the park to take advantage of the gorgeous weather. Texas in the fall -- when the rain goes away, that is -- is definitely a good thing.

Oh, I am SO going to catch you

Ready to slide!

Look over there!

At night, we all went to my school for the Fall Festival. I'll bet I was one of the few kids there with my own entourage.

Um, Mommy, why are we at school at night?

Excited to see Sofia

Petting the exotic animal

Decorating my cookie

And a quick taste test tells me it's good

Coloring with A-Yi

This was my favorite of all the activities.

Thanks for a great evening!

Halloween morning was my playgroup's annual Halloween Party (it can be considered "annual" even though it's only the second year, right?). Last year's 41 people (13 babies and 28 adults) was NOTHING compared to the 81 people there this year (30 kids and 51 adults)! We've certainly come a long way. Plus, last year only some of the kids were mobile; this year, it was 30 walking, running, tripping, climbing toddlers all over each other and the community center. With all the new babies that are being born right now to my friends' mommies, I have a feeling that next year will be even crazier ... it may get worse before it gets better!

All dressed up ready to par-tay!
I'm grapes, and Mommy's dressed as a pumpkin.

My playgroup ... well, most of us.

Grapes with bib

Forget the bib; this is much easier

Eating a "spider"

The best toy ever ... ice!

You can eat it

You can throw it

But you can't keep me away from it!

I had a slight wardrobe change while at the party. I've been wearing my grape costume around the house for a few weeks now and love it, but as soon as I saw Sofia's cute pumpkin outfit, I wanted to be a pumpkin, too! I immediately screeched until Mommy took off my costume and walked around dressed as, well, a hussy until she came up with a suitable alternative. Luckily, she had brought an orange shirt with her and Sofia let me borrow her pumpkin hat, so I got to be pumpkin after all.

But I don't want to be grapes any more!

Temporarily appeased by my impromptu pumpkin outfit.

Thank goodness Mommy came prepared with an extra shirt just in case.

Pooped after the party. Kids, do not try this at home!

Now we're pumpkins together

The doorbell started ringing that evening with kids going around the block, and I got into the trick-or-treat spirit by passing out candy. Later, I went trick-or-treating with Sofia and our entourage. I was so wound up and excited from everything around me -- or it could have been the M&Ms I had before we left -- I would have to stop every so often while we walked just to give a little scream (eep!) and release some of my energy. The only uh-oh moment was when Sofia wanted to sit in my car, but then we quickly took care of that problem because I only wanted to sit in her stroller. Crisis averted!

My very first trick or treat experience ...

... Or, as I like to call it ...

... "more? more? please? please?"

This is fun!

We decided to trade our rides and our drivers

Daddy helps with the stairs
before we stopped skipping the houses with stairs altogether

While the mommies take a break

My last trick-or-treater: I don't know WHAT you are

But I'll give you a candy anyways

Quick, put more in my basket while nobody's looking

So much happened this weekend, plus with Gong-Gong there you KNOW there were a lot of pictures, so I created a whole separate album for lots of extra pics from my spook-tacular Halloween weekend. Also, you can click on any of my pictures in my blog to see them bigger. Thank you, Gong-Gong, for helping to capture so many moments. Not only does Mommy appreciate it, so do all of my friends' mommies!

I'm not sure how to thank you; how about an M&M?
