Cuties ... Camelot Cuties

Two posts in two days ... wow! Today was my last playgroup with almost everyone there for awhile (even Ms. Becky and Baby Reid made it!), so we decided to take advantage of the gathering by taking our first group picture ... and I know how my fans love to see pictures. :) We missed you, Sofia and Ms. Flo!

Everytime a picture was about to be taken, the whole room got quiet.
At first the mommies thought it was because us kids were suddenly being good,
but then I think they realized that THEY were the loud ones!

Everyone asks what I do at my playgroups. I admit, it used to be all about the mommies. They would lay us on blankets all over the ground and chit chat all around us. But ever since we started becoming mobile, they spend most of their time chasing us around!

Mommy really likes our playgroup and looks forward to going the whole week leading up to it. She was sad when we couldn't go when I was sick and is going to try extra hard to keep me healthy all winter so we don't miss another one!

Official Crawling and QT with Daddy

No doubt about it ... I'm crawling! And, since I've convinced that crawling for a whole weekend pretty much means I've mastered it, I'm moving on to pulling up and furniture surfing. Woo-hoo!

I also have two new teeth, right up there on top. I like to grate on Mommy's nerves by grinding all my teeth together. My hair is getting even longer, but don't bother asking Mommy if she'll cut my hair because she'll give a resounding "NO!".

Hello? Are you coming to get me or what?

Is the faux-hawk back?

Last week, Mommy went on a business trip for three whole days, and it was just me and Daddy together sharing some quality time. Luckily, he had some practice from the weekend prior when Mommy went on a super-fun Mommies' Night Out with my playgroup friends' mommies. For two mornings and three nights, Daddy took me to school, left work to pick me up, and did the whole feeding and bedtime routine. The whole experience was very bonding, but I think Daddy was very relieved when Mommy came home.

The first morning (it may have been a little rough)

The last morning (we got it all under control)

I got my pictures back from Mr. Sudeep, and he did such a good job! He definitely caught my impishness. :) You can check them all out online!

Ha-ya! I'm a Dancing Queen!

Last week, Po-Po and Gong-Gong came to Dallas after they decided their house was safe post-Ike and came to visit me. Yes, they stayed in Clear Lake despite the mandatory evacuation, but everything turned out fine even though they had no power for five days. Then, Auntie Syndee came to visit my this week, and we had a Girls' Night Out with Auntie Diana. I was bummed I didn't get to see Jacob, but I got to eat just like the girls with a real bowl and real spoon ... I even got a whole handful of rice to shove in my mouth! Be careful, I'm fast!

Getting into trouble ...

... all over the place!

I just realized I never posted a link to my September album in the list. Not sure how that happened, but it's there now! A couple of videos, too.

Daddy! Stop working and play with me!

A-crawlin' and a-kissin'

No autographs, please!

Everything's doing fine. My teachers at school are fantastic, even though it's not quite as fun as being with Mommy and Daddy at home. I'm starting to really crawl (with my tummy off the floor and everything!), but I find that army scootching is just so much faster! Mostly it's when I get to the tile because it's either too hard or too cold.

Daddy's shirt is too big for me!

See? I told you so!

I've decided that it's not fair that Mommy and Daddy make me eat cereal for dinner when they get yummier food! So, even though I eat all my food at school that my teachers give me, at home I insist on eating "real" food and feeding myself.

I had a lid here somewhere ... where did it go?

What I lack in grace I make up for in enthusiasm

Hmm ... I wonder what this one tastes like?

Oh ... oh, my ...

One of my new things is that I like to kiss and lick things. Mommy and Daddy really like it when I kiss them or the mirror, but they don't like that I tend to do open mouth licking and that I don't really discriminate what I'm kissing.

Oop ... caught kissing myself in the mirror

Not too much else is going on; just needed an excuse to upload some September pictures, really. For everyone in Ike's way, stay safe!

I'm sorry you didn't come visit, Po-Po! I have all this watermelon to share!

Staying in Houston during a hurricane? Seriously?

Mini-milestone? Pat-Pat-Pat

My teachers prepare a daily activity record everyday for me to take home and tell Mommy and Daddy what I was up to that day, and yesterday there was a big update from one of my favorite teachers:

*** I was so ELATED today. I was feeding another baby on my right side & Claire was in my lap on the left side. She watched me patting/burping the baby on the right & then she began patting the baby on her own. We were so shocked! :)

I'm not quite sure what the big deal was, but it seemed like everyone was super excited. My teachers went and got the director of the school to show her what I was doing, and they made me repeat it again. I thought I was just being helpful!

After Mommy told Daddy about it last night, they made me do it to Mommy, too. Pat-pat-pat. Silly parents!

Labor Day Weekend

I know I just posted on Friday, but this weekend was so, so fun! I wish I could hang out with Mommy and Daddy this much every day. On Friday, I got to hang out with Mommy earlier in the afternoon than usual, and we even took a nap together in our favorite place -- the chaise in her bedroom.

I swear there was a bisquit around here somewhere. Have you seen it?

Saturday started out as usual with our morning walk and weekly trip to Costco, but I got a surprise that afternoon: Mommy and Daddy took me to a Gymboree class! I got to sing and play with lots of toys including tubes, foam blocks, and a parachute! I even crawled through this big colored tube. I wasn't scared at all of the other kids and proudly crawled front and center to the middle of the circle to enjoy the bubble blowing. There was even a moment that I was standing all by myself so excited to be playing; Mommy and Daddy were too shocked to even get the camera.

These stairs are bigger than me!

Sunday morning I woke to find that Uncle Dwo (my Xiao-Jiu) and Auntie Crystal had arrived the night before to visit! I had lots of fun playing with them all morning, and then we all went shopping together in the afternoon. Yay, lots of new clothes for me! The best purchase was the bubble blower that Daddy bought for me ... it was just like at Gymboree and school! We played bubbles for a long time after dinner (Mommy was so excited about something called sushi, I don't know why) and laughed about all the bubbles that sat all over everything in the room.

On Monday, I just hung out with Mommy and Daddy running errands, eating out, and playing at home. I'm enjoying eating lots of new foods, and I'm enjoying it even more now that Mommy and Daddy took at that baby insert from my high chair. I'm a big girl! Mommy and Daddy added a new element to my bedtime routine that's so fun ... bubbles! Daddy blows lots of bubbles for me that float all over the room, and I chase them all around. It wears me out.

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere!

Something a little different this weekend than in the past is that I slept in my bed all night every night. I can't say that I'm ecstatic about this new set-up, but I guess it's not all bad. Mommy apparently thinks it's a pretty big deal and spent a lot of time this weekend writing about it.

For some reason I can't reach my snack! What could be in the way?!

Can you believe it's September already?! In just a few short days, I'm going to be 7 months old! Of course, Mommy created my September album already so that she could upload a bunch of pictures online. She keeps taking a lot of pictures of me eating -- which is such bad etiquette, Mommy -- because she thinks it's funny for some reason. Hmph. A girl's gotta eat!

I have what on my face? Nah ...

Back to school tomorrow!
